In order to protect these photodiodes from damage, they are packaged in the Bulk. It is necessary to enclose the photodiodes in Radial, 5mm Dia (T 1 3/4) packages for safety purposes. Continually operating in reverse-bias mode, a photodiode's maximum voltage is 100V. Reverse-bias photodiodes should not be operated above 100V permanently. The photodiode operates at 2nA current even in the absence of light input.
