PD438B/S46 Overview
In order to protect the photodiodes against damage, they are packaged in the Bulk. For safety reasons, the photodiodes are packaged in TO-226-2, TO-92-2 Long Body packages. Continuously reverse-biasing photodiodes can withstand 170V voltage. It is recommended to set the reverse-bias mode for the photodiodes to not exceed 170V on a continuous basis. 2 pins are present on the photodiodes. A photodiode conducts 5nA current without light input.
